It's a big crime to hide the most beautiful thing about you, but thank god you can't help but show them to the world when you smileš.
Let's talk about sustainable dental care. Nah! not about brushing and flossing but the things we are using for dental care.
Tooth Brush: On average, we use 300 toothbrushes in our lifetime, resulting in thousands of toothbrushes finding their way to landfills every year. Each toothbrush takes more than 500 years to get decomposed. Let's bite the plastic brushes and dive into zero-waste toothbrushes.
The first ever zero-waste toothbrush is bamboo handled one. Don't worry about cutting down trees as bamboo plants can be grown just like any other crop. Although the name is zero waste toothbrush it is still not a completely zero waste brush, Their bristles are still conventional Nylon bristles.

There is a reason to opt for Nylon bristles, sustainable bristles are made up of boar hair. Many of us may not like to use them for many reasons like
They are not vegan
Animal cruelty - Note: They are extracted and processed from slaughterhouse waste so no animal is killed just for this purpose.
High maintenance - Although it is processed, it is still organic material that provides a good environment for bacteria growth. We have to clean it with hot water regularly.
Also unless one is ready for a mouthful of boar hair
Mouth Wash: Many good bacteria reside in our mouths that play a key role in food digestion. Do you use mouthwash frequently? using mouthwash is the best way to destroy healthy oral bacteria. If you are using it to correct bad breath then you should know that your issue will worsen. Many types of mouthwash use harmful chemicals like Chlorine Dioxide, Chlorhexidine, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Parabens, etc that can increase cavities, damage the balance of the oral ecosystem cause mouth ulcers, and even oral cancer. There are few brands that are providing mouthwash free of all these harmful chemicals, but why not sustainable options
The best alternatives for artificial mouthwash are
Oil pulling.
Use essential oils like peppercorn, and cardamon mixed with water like mouthwash.
Drink lots of water.
Chew food properly and clean your mouth whenever you eat something.
